Penguin Uniting Church Concert

On Sunday the Band played a successful concert at the Penguin Uniting Church in Penguin.  We had a good size audience who enjoyed the Band music and were entertained by the whole band as well as a duet featuring Jesse & Anthony, a solo by Naomi and two vocal solos from Tali.  A Big thanks goes to Robert Bentley for filling in as conductor while Chris is unwell. Pictures from the event can be viewed here.

A Practice With a Difference
Sunday band practice took on an English flavour today when world renowned conductor and trombone player Mark Eager dropped in. Although he came to buy some fish and chips from across the road, soon he had been coaxed into the role of 'guest conductor' and proceeded to give the Band a fantastic 2 hour lesson on some of the finer points of brass banding.  A huge thanks is owed to Mark for generously donating his time and to Peter Quigley for bringing him along and being our guest flugelhorn player for the afternoon.

New Website
Ulverstone Municipal Band has launched its new website.

The band was looking for a site that was simple yet effective, was easy to maintain, and didn't cost a small fortune.

Amanda Casagrande worked with the band to develop its new presence on the world wide web.
